Applications open for McMaster's Global Experience Program

Graduate students can apply to McMaster’s Global Experience Program, an award that provides support to students seeking international work and experiential learning opportunities.   

Through the Global Experience Award (GEA), students can receive up to $2,000 to support international experiential learning opportunities and initiatives. Support can be provided to faculty and students in planning for meaningful, career and course enhancing activities. 

This award is available to all graduate and undergraduate students wishing to participate in international opportunities, including:  

  • research
  • co-op
  • internship
  • work placement
  • volunteer service
  • learning
  • leadership development (conferences, job shadow)

Note that preference will be given to approving non-traditional cultural experiences. Applications will be accepted all year.

This award is open to returning students completing their academic studies. 

Opportunities must be a minimum duration of seven days. Applicants will be notified within five business days of a complete application submissions.

Applying for the Global Experience Award

Graduate students can apply for the award via Mosaic self-service. Under Finances, select Apply for Financial Aid.

  2. Submit a signed application – an application for Graduate Students will pop up on Mosaic – and supporting documents in person or by mail to Student Financial Aid & Scholarships, Gilmour Hall, Room 120, at least one month in advance of your travel and no later than April 30.
